My second attempt at the steel wool / vinegar darkening method that I read about on LJ on this table.

Length: 23”
Width: 22.25”
Height: 27”

This whole table is made from reclaimed lumber. The top came from a 100+ year old house that collapsed. The 6 X 6 legs are scrap from a house my brother-in-law is building. The rest is from pallets I had laying around.

Very nice work.

-- Mother Nature created it, I just assemble it.

I understand that pine’s low tannin levels make sw/v ebonizing difficult. Did you treat the wood with anything else to make it turn so dark?

I treated it with nothing but the vinegar solution and coffee. I did add two or three coats of the solution before brushing on the coffee, however. I not sure I needed to, but I did.

I read about this on here somewhere. I don’t remember which project, though. It was a fairly recent one within a few weeks.
