Jelly Cupboard

I made several of these Jelly Cupboards several years ago for gifts. The are made from pine. The tin panels were all punched by me. I filed a nail down, put it in my drill press, set the depth limit on the drill press and punched all the holes (drill press was turned off). I then soaked the tin in vinegar for several days to get the rusted patina I wanted.

I put a clear coat on most of the cupboards, but one I used white milk paint and distressed it.

The plans are from Woodsmith No. 87.

Thanks,

Very pretty and right up my alley. Good for you to punch you own tin. I’ve always just purchased them. What is the finish on the pine?

Beautiful and well made cupboard, like the punched tin and the country style. Great job!

Have your say...
