This was a contest project for our woodturning club. I came in second in my category. This ended up being my best friends Christmas present which he is taking to his cottage.
It is a combination coffee scoop and bottle opener. The idea is it is off center so it looks crooked if you used the bottle opener side too many times. In the morning after using the bottle opener too many times the night before, you don’t have to look for the coffee scoop.
The wood is ash, colored with Transtint dyes – black, purple, then blue. 6 coats of spray lacquer and buffed on the Bealll Buffing System. The scoop and opener are Rockler kits.
