This box was made for a friend that was retiring from the Navy. He was getting a shadow box made, so we opted for something different. The box is made entirely out of oak and lined with navy blue felt on the bottom. This was my first attempt at such a thing and was entirely done by hand tools. I think it turned out well for a first time project.

That’s a nice retirement box, and a nice tribute to him! And I’m sure he’ll enjoy that spiced rum as well!

How about a shot ofthe top? I was in the Navy for 9 years. I want to see the emblems too!

Sorry, these are the only two photos I have of this. He was a Boatswain Mate before he became a Corpsman, so it has the two crossed anchors, cadeauces, First Class rankings, and his Surface and FMF designator pins.
