desk storage thing

I made this to act as the catchall for all the stuff on my desk. I don’t like a cluttered desk so this helps me out
It’s made out of poplar except for the bottom shelf which is a piece of 1/2” red oak plywood.
I’ve got it on the right side of my desk where I used to have my poplar slat waste basket (that’s on the left side now).
The drawer guides are a strip of poplar screwed at the front and rear legs and doweled into the vertical slats.
The drawer is dovetailed box with a sliding till in it. The drawer front is a piece of 3/4” poplar without a handle. Which my wife says is stupid.

Nice little unit.
Gives me an idea for something to use under my desk as I have no drawers at all. Like the idea of a matching waste basket as well.

Thanx for the comments. My wife and the girls are laying odds on how it’ll be before I overload this and make a second one.
