Pecan Box

I’ve had some Pecan logs in my shop for at least 10 years, I decided that it might be time to start using them. I turned this little Box. Measures 4” Tall and is 3” Wide. The interior space is 2 1/4” Deep x 2 1/4” Wide. The finish is a Mineral Oil and Beeswax combination, followed by a Beeswax coat and then buffed on the Beall Buffing System. The finish is a Matte finish, but is smooth as glass. I can tell you first hand that Pecan is harder than Chinese Arithmetic.

Sure looks like you can get a great finish on your projects! Like the crisp lines on this piece.

Beautiful work Bill. That Pecan is as hard as Hickory and also just as nice. This is my favorite wood.
