Some friends gave me a box of builders samples left over from building their house. The pile included alder, oak, walnut, maple, cherry, birch, mahogany, hickory, and maybe a few others. I milled the pieces down, glued them up and ended up with a roughly, 13 inch square, 1 1/2 inches thick. I finished it with a mix of mineral oil and bees wax.

Cool cutting board. I like the idea of using the samples. Nice work.

Cool. I’m a fan of end grain stuff.

Looks great, like the look of the different mix of woods with great finish. Well done!
