Well, as promised to friends, I have made more coasters. These new ones are made up of 13 different scrap boards I dug out of my burn bin. I got a lot of practice at squaring them up and making good glue joints. Also spent a lot of quality time with the planer. Now it has been suggested that I try to peddle them at some local bars and restaurants. I have no idea what the outcome of that might be, and no idea what they might be worth. Probably not much. But, once I get them squared up I can produce them pretty quick. These are sanded to 220 and have 2 coats of tung oil. They are made of a combination of red oak, white oak, and maple that came out of an old gym floor. I know, I said I would never combine red and white oak again. Never say never.

Coasters…...so simple yet so profound. Ok, maybe not simple construction with what you got going on here, but they look good.
