Heres a cherry wood Kuksa I carved recently.

After making this I ordered myself a mora hook knife, and a 2” gouge..

I made this with a 5/8” Gouge for the bowl, and an axe to rough shape the outside.

Its about 4” across and 3” tall

I make a bunch of other stuff which I’m always posting on my shop

Very nice. Great job with the shape and the grain pattern. What does Kuksa mean?

Kuksa (the Finnish word, also ‘guksi’ in Sami or ‘kåsa’ in Swedish), which are traditional wooden cups usually carved from Birch burl.

Very cool, what finish did you use on it?

well I tried mineral oil inside…but then I noticed it coming off in my drink lol.

So, Im using a butchers block wax finish on the outside..

It sweats though when theres some hot drink inside..

So, I may leave it unfinished :S
