Being a starving carver, I make most of my own jigs and tools when I can. This project made from some left over African mahogany, threaded brass inserts, small thumb screws and some 1/4” dowels was a product of necessity as I do a lot of deep relief carving. Simple and functional seems to be the way to go.

Go ahead Jeff, if I remember right, I stole the idea from a tool I saw at Woodcraft that was too expensive for me when I could easily make one at home!
