Our 125 year old house has forced hot water radiators. We love the heat but radiators are ugly. Thought about sandblasting and plating them, but not in this house. They had metal covers which were sheet metal with a design punched in and angle iron sides and cross members. I spent some time with some pine boards, cutting them into strips and then routing 1/4 rounds on each and used some standard moulding for the edging… This fits our Old House much better than the metal. Lets out as much heat and gives us a nice display space for photos and things.

Nice work! I like the chamfers on the vertical strips.

Good and appropriate remedy.

Great looking solution and makes a nice shelf for additional storage. Great job!
