Hay rake

After making a traditional wooden scythe handle I felt that I had to make a hay rake to go with it so that my wife could also enjoy using a traditional hand made tool. The hay rake has hand carved hazel teeth. The bar is made from oak and the teeth are spliced into it.
The handle and the metal reinforcement are reclaimed from an old broken hay rake.

Hay rakes just don’t get the respect they deserve.
I suppose city folk just don’t get it.
Nice build…...................

Great looking rake, I like the traditional build and I like even more how you explained that your wife will be doing the raking!
