Stepping back into bandsaw box making mode, this has been very popular and a great seller for me, they are fun to make, this bandsaw Box Fire Truck is made out of Red Cedar, the pulls and Ladder are made from Maple and Walnut, the red light on top is Mahogany, the cab drawer has a hidden drawer inside of it.

It measures 12” x 6” x 3 3/4” and is finished in a single coat of tung oil, a single coat of non waxed shellac and two coats of wipe on poly gloss finish.

Variety is the spice of life, and you are certainly multi-facited in your accomplishments! Very nicely done.

Randy,

I see development in your technique and choices of materials. How long does it take now as compared to say the first band saw boxes?

That is really clever. You design that? Great looking and I bet even adult males would set one of those on their dresser.

Randy…that is an awesome fire truck bandsaw box. I think it is great that some parents will buy their kids a neat wood toy like this instead of the plastic cheapo toys or electronic video games.

Thanks John, Thomas, Paul, Greg, Roger Ken, Monte and Charles.

Thomas I pretty much got the learning curve out of the way and prob could write a book on my twist in bandsaw box building designs now so yeah they go a lot faster now.

Paul Yep my design, it has drawn a lot of attention to fire fighters and retired fire fighters, and also to the younger age.

I hope you get enough for these neat boxes, Blackie. I know you put a lot of time and effort into them.

Very nice! Profession or themed based bandsaw boxes a great idea and adds a personal level of attraction to your collection.

Sky is the limit on designs…tree of life (I dare ya!), sports ball shapes (soccer ball, football, etc.), musical instruments like guitar, etc.

Thanks, Shannon and that sounds like a challenge :) believe it or not I’ve thrown these ideas around, as for as the tree goes, I believe it’s been done from other bandsaw artist, I did a mushroom once, for a woodlands fairy theme. :)

Randy, These are your trademark pieces and instantly recognizable as your work. These trucks and the sleighs are hard to beat.
