I may have posted some pics of my shop stool in some of my other photos. Well, it was on it’s last leg…or seat rather. So, I tore it off and used from of the wormy maple or Ambrosia Maple as it is also called ;) and made a new seat for it. I think it fits the shop much better now.

I found some ambrosia maple in a pile of pallet boards recently. I wish I could find more. It is so beautiful. I like the seat of this stool. I am working on some end tables using large brake rotors as the base and would love to have a top made from the maple. You did well. Did, you turn it round on a late or cut it?

I just used a circle jig I made for the router and cut it with that. Then took it over to the router table and cleaned it up and shaped it. Not too bad of a job once you get it set up.

The wood is gorgeous with those pretty grains and figures. That’s a pretty seat for your shop that will serve you well for a long time. Great job!
