I built two pull out shelves for our pots and pans. Now I just need to build more for the other cabinets.

I used select pine for the sides and a 3/8 inch round over bit for the top, miter joints, and a rabbet for the bottom. I used 3/4” birch ply as the bottom, over kill I know but that is what I had. For the next ones I plan to use 1/2” birch ply. Anyone out there made something like these and have any recommendations? Several of them will hold some weight so I might just build them all with 3/4, that way I do not have to worry about what I put on them.

I have not applied a finish but plan on applying a gloss polyurethane once I get a few more done.

Good morning,

Nicely done!

I built two similar drawers and I use them for all of my baking supplies. While that wouldn’t be as heavy as pots, the 1/2 inch plywood was plenty.

The PIA factor for me with the build was high with installing the drawers which is why I haven’t built any more yet. I hope yours went smoother. I finished mine with spray on shellac which worked great. I’m not sure I’d want high gloss under pots and pans.

Great build on those pull out trays. They are great for deep drawers to access easily the pans and other kitchen stuff.

Have your say...
