Another seqmented tray

This is another tray that was done using the same procedure as my previous project. My wife is using this as a tray for her perfumes. I actually did this project before the other tray that I posted, and it started out as a test run on this procedure.

This tray started as a lamination of:

2” Cherry
3/8” Oak
1/4” Mahogany
1/4” Oak
1/4” Mahogany
3/8” Oak
2” Cherry

After gluing the strips together, I cut one inch strips at 45 degrees. Alternating pieces were flipped and reglued to form the first generation zigzag pattern.

The second generation pattern was formed by cutting the zigzag pattern at 35 degrees. The cuts were performed at the descending midpoint of the zigzag. Again, alternating pieces were flipped and reglued together.
