Not a project, just a little tool because I’m lazy and don’t like opening and closing the vise.
I like my wood up on the bench when planing, so in the past I’ve been using different size blocks 1st picture.
I finally realized a single 1/2” plate with a few holes would resolve the issue of having all these blocks, usually the wrong size. I can use it flipped forward or backward, but can now keep my piece on the benchtop rather than a mix between top and vise.
just flip the dog around from flat to round side to fit into the holes and prevent splitting.
