Wife's first pen

I’m posting this for my wife, Sherry. It is the first pen she has made on her Christmas lathe. It is made from beech, with parts from Penn State Industries. I’ve very proud of her as she has learned a lot about lathe work in the past few weeks, with the help of many LJ members here.

Well done Sherry. Looking forward to seeing what else comes off the lathe. Glad you decided to try something new. That’s very cool…...Enjoy it!

-- Jeff - I have not failed. I've just found 10,002 ways that won't work.

I am so glad to see she has completed her first pen.
Now that the first one is out of the way, the flood gates may open.

Thanks, all. She really appreciates the comments. Now if I could just get her to create an LJ account …

Please pass along my CONGRATULATIONS....
On a job well done!!!

I’m looking forward to seeing more of Sherry’s work “turned” out….

“Proxy Posting” is acceptable….
But, for only so long!!! ;^)

It would be great for Sherry to sign up on LJ’s….
This way she can personally get the kudos & accolades!!!
Plus, she would be able to seek out advice and answers to her questions.

Either way, Sherry….
Welcome to LJ’s & the addiction of turning wood!!!

-- Randy-- I may not be good...but I am slow! If good things come to those who wait.... Why is procratination a bad thing?

You tell sherry I will stop helping if she doesn’t sign up and post over on our corner by tomorrow evening.

I’m joking.
I’ll still help anyway I can.
She does need to sign up though.
We won’t even talk bad about you if she’s a member too.

On second thought, give me ammunition and I’ll use it against you anyway.

Ha ha … I have thick skin, you don’t have to treat me any special way at all. However, I’ll still encourage her to join. Tonight she said she might.

Thanks. I’ll let her know you liked it (she is ‘just-a-turning’ on LJ). She is just finishing her first full size bowl, made from mulberry, from a tree in our own back yard. I’m hoping for plenty of wood when I move the beautiful South in another 9 years.
