It’s not putting it away, it’s finding it when you need it? I’ve got mine badly stacked in many places.
I envy your space.

Straight boards? Bah! humbug! ... “don’t need no stinking straight boards” (Think Bogart)
Really that is a nice collection of wood, but I stack mine to keep it straight and label the ends so that I remember what each piece is … Well, most of the time.

Ha! That kind of reminds me of how I first started tossing lumber in my garage! Until it really started getting in the way, so now it’s neatly stacked and stickered.

i had to come back and look again, looks like there is a lot of walnut in there, no wonder most of your projects are walnut, i just cut down a 50 footer on saturday and its gone to the sawyer today…im thinking its going to give me a lot of walnut..the base was 80 inch circumference..that is a good size for around here…how big do they get there in michigan..

I agree, you have a problem. If you ship it to my house, there would be no problem. Nice stash.

Your style of organizing your wood seems oddly similar to what I do, in fact, I thought you had been taking pics of my wood storage, but then I remembered I don’t have so much wood.
But I keep them just as disorganized as you do! They all start out nice and stacked, but when I need the perfect board from the bottom 1/3 of the stack and it is time to restack the pile –
