Two built-in book shelves for friend. Painted pine, nothing fancy but she was very pleased and filled them right up with books!

The shelves look great. I have noticed on a few posts that feature built-ins that the baseboards do not get cut. Would it not look more built-in if the baseboard was cut to end at the new shelves or even run across the front of the shelves? I do not know the rules, so just asking…

Outside of a dog, a book is a man’s best friend. Inside a dog it’s too dark to read anyway!

I like the crown detail. Nice look.

The baseboard in these pics is the way the customer requested it. They wanted them to be removable with base board still behind the shelves. I suppose it doesn’t matter if they are cut or ot depends on preference.

KelvinGrove, Very true! Love the wisdom in your post!

Beautiful and clean work on those sturdy book shelves, like the wood and the molding.
