Project Information

This is a little pencil can I made to keep the pens and pencils in one place in our trailer in Az. I was lucky to complete it because I did not have a small tool rest to go inside as I bored it out. The inside was done entirely with a 3/8" bedan and it was hanging way too far off the tool rest to do the bottom. It was real small cuts to keep it from biting in!

The barrel bands were rough cut , painted black and then finished cut .The whole thing was sprayed with clear satin lacquer.

Cheers, Jim

This is where that 1/2''bedan comes in handy Jim. Good job. I'm almost finished with a cedar can koozie and it looks very similar.

Looks like a nice lil barrel… is it upside down?

What did you splatter on it?

That's cool but there is no place to put the pens into…you should have cut a hole in the top!!! Just kiddin'... I wish I had your talent on the lathe.

Nice one Jim. Is it made like a lidded box…. does the top come off or does it part in the middle?

Cliff.

Thanks for the nice comments.

Hi Cliff. This is real simple, it is not lidded. The last shot is of it upside down!

cheers, Jim
