This was a new sort of challenge. After seeing a picture online, I decided to create puzzle piece coasters for our upcoming wedding to hand out as wedding favors. But creating several hundred identical items in a garage workshop is a pain!
Pieces were laser-cut and etched from 1/8” baltic birch plywood then glued to a 1/8” plywood substrate and given an adhesive-backed cork bottom. Finished with rattle-can lacquer just to speed things up. My fiance then dressed them all up with bows.
Although they turned out great, doing hundreds of these things turned out to be more of a chore than a joy. As always, learned a ton! BTW, one purchase that really sped things up was the Ridgid oscillating edge sander. Without that thing, sanding would’ve taken a year!
