This segmented vessel was my entry into the Minnesota State Fair last year and it took 3rd place. The competition is tough and I was happy with 3rd place. The woods are walnut, yellow heart and purple heart with a little texturing by burning the 2 black rings.

wonderful work! I really like the pattern. I would love to try the segmented turning someday but the precision required worries me, I had enough difficulties with the end grain cutting boards. :-) You did a great job!

Another beautiful piece. I know you call it work but I would call it fun when when you come up with something this nice. I do some of those also just not as pretty as yours.

Vince – the angle of the chevrons is about 30 degrees.
