After over 34 years with my best friend and partner, I wanted to knock out something for Valentines day. She really loved it.
This guy is about 3.5” tall. I turned on lathe to get the rough shape and hand carved the rest. Painted with acrylic paints. Started with the brown then carved the hair. Used black to rub in the hair grooves and paint nose, eyes, etc. Later sprayed with a gloss laquer.

Very fun and cuddly little bear! I can see why the Mrs. loved it.

Tom, what a fine project. I can see why she likes it. It is just the right combination of fun and personality to make it a real winner. Thanks for sharing this with all of us, but I don’t think I’ll share this with my wife. I don’t want to be thought of as a shirker. What a super gift. Keep boxing and keep posting.
