This fellow has one of my fist basic animation concepts. As the peg on the inside of the front wheel passes by the bottom of the jaw, it opens the gaping mouth, only to let it chomp shut a moment later. Very kinetic and satisfying. I use Cherry for most of my toys because it doesn’t splinter, it holds up and it is , of course, beautiful.

If you like this guy, I have a book coming out this summer with Fox Chapel press that will have this guy in it, along with 19 others. I also have a website where these bad boys are for sale. wildlife-toys.com

Cool design with outstanding craftsmanship. Look forward to the publication of your new book—let us know when it comes out or pre-order opens.

Very cool. This would be fun to try to make. Will the book include plans for your various creatures? :-) The T-rex and some of the other dinosaurs are pretty cool too.
