Project Information

I was given a piece walnut for christmas. This was my first go-round with with walnut, and I'm happy with how it turned it. The front and back of the drawers are made from recycled maple. I saw an old dresser on the side of the street, planed the front and back of the drawer fronts and found some really nice wood!

This was my first attempt at some hand cut dovetails on the drawers. Dadoed the back of the drawer to make glue up easier and to add strength.

I also added some dovetail keys to the side for strength and topped the drawers off with some hand carved drawer pulls.

The jewelry box is finished with 4 coats of shellac.
