Box Elder Bowl

While I was working on the lathe this weekend, I figured I’d turn a quick bowl out of a piece of Box Elder that I had laying around with a nice pink “streak” in it (is there a technical name for that???). Ended up having some nice figure in it as well. Not sure how well it’ll show in the pics, but catches the light nicely. Finished it with some orange oil and wax. Thanks for checking it out.

Nice use of what could have been firewood.
How do you find box elder with the bug infestation killing so many of the trees?
