Grandson's dresser

Project by Joe Weaver posted 448 days ago 457 views 3 times favorited 10 comments Add to Favorites Watch

My daughter was looking online for a dresser for my oldest grandson. He is 5 soon to be 6. She showed me a picture of the one she liked and this is how it turned out. Made of solid red oak. The only other wood in it is in the bottom of the drawers.

I really like the doors and side panels. Did you use a single panel and just cut dados in in them or separate pieces for each of the slats?

Very nice looking. The color looks great.

Why are there no handles on the doors?

Nice looking dresser that also appears very functional. Thanks for sharing.

Joe, that is a beauty. There is something about red oak that really looks good: I like it!

Nice—you’ll be glad you made it out of red oak, considering the abuse that kids deliver. If it can make it to when he’s nine without too much graffiti, he’ll have a piece for life!
