Hello all,
This was a random project I completed a couple of winters ago while my wife and I were in the process of moving. I found the wood at a local store and knew exactly what I was going to build. I believe it’s Beetle Kill pine, but I could be wrong. Either way the entire thing was built over a few weekends and I was able to do it without her knowing anything. I used the Hand Hammered nails on the corners for decoration, lined the inside with Red Cedar that I had cut down at work. I used about 4 coats of Shellac to get the look I wanted and all in all the project was a success, she was very happy to come home and see it waiting for her.
Thanks for checking it out.

Matt

That’s very attractive and goes with the bed well. Nice work.

I love beetle kill pine. It has rich character and it’s saving the forestry in my home province. Well done, that is a lovely chest.

Have your say...
