While I was refinishing a clock for my inlaw’s I thought, I could make this. So I found some plans and bought some wood and started to make a dusty garage! I built this back in 94, I recall I making two doors as the cheap Craftsman (always blame the tools) router lost its grip on the round over bit and, well… I hung the first door on the garage wall as a reminder. The plans called for three Oak burl trim peices on the top front of the case, I seached for a while and gave up. It has been so long, I think adding the trim would look starnge to me now. This was the first big project I attempted and found it very rewarding.

Ahhhh…one project I’d like to do. A beautiful job Tim, but it makes the rest of the house look empty. Better get back to shop and make some more stuff!!

Well Lew you caught me, the fluted columns (and the top & bottoms) were purchased, the cost of making them was too much. Thanks all for the kind words.

I missed this piece on my earlier expedition through the projects. The clock looks great. To make a correction, those are reeded columns, not fluted. There’s no shame in buying them especially since the rest of the project was nicely executed. Nice work.
