This is a carved Santa ornament in basswood. It’s about 5 inches high and 2 inches diameter. The finish is first boiled lindseed oil, then acrylic paints, then a brown Bris Wax for antiquing. The face is the natural color from the lindseed oil with a hint of barn red to rosey the cheeks and lips.

Excellent details in your carving. I love the nice clean cuts and painting.

Thanks, Mike. Glad you like it. Did you check out the eyes? See the comma shaped color line? See the black being almost 2/3rds of the white? Just a suggestion. Keep carving. We love seeing it.

Thanks very much, folks. Glad you like the work. Too bad you can buy things like this at the Christmas Tree shops for $1.97.

Justin, you did a beautiful job of carving this ornament. Congratulations and welcome to Lumberjocks.
