New House Number

Got sick of looking at my old house number and had a little time on my hands so I decided to make a simple half lap frame for some new numbers. The frame is cherry with black walnut faceted pins, the inside is pine and the numbers are also black walnut. I’ve always liked the flowing organic look of Art Nouveau designs and was inspired to create my own font for the numbers. I punted with my router and did some free hand designs into the background to compliment the numbers, had so much fun doing it I decided to make a second one out of mahogany I’m donating for a charity auction. Finished with an exterior urethane and some paste wax. I should mention that my house is a 1950’s ranch with vinyl siding and has no business being adorned with an arts and crafts style house number plaque, I just kinda get off on the juxtaposition.
