More pens of course, Have to put that new lathe to good use. All of these are made with new kits that I am working with thanks to sales during the holidays. Each is also made with some blanks that I purchased for something different to work with.

Pics 1, 2- Jim Beam Blank made with Roller Ball Anaheim kit from Craft Supplies. I was mistaken in my last post as the package I got came with Roller Balls and Ballpoints. This is actually my first Roller Ball. OOPS.. need to read packaging better. The Jim Beam blanks came from Woodcraft and were very easy to work with.

Pics 3, 4- A chrome Kit I picked up and in large quantities. This is the first turning from it. The blank is from the Atlantic City Boardwalk and came from PSI. Since I grew up going to AC fairly regularly I thought this wold be a fun blank. It was fairly easy to turn and finished pretty well considering it is just pressure treated wood.

Pics 5, 6- Another Anaheim Ballpoint, this one done with a burl that I purchased a while back on clearance somewhere. Perhaps Rockler. My first experience with this type of wood and I have to say I like the outcome. I have a couple more that I am looking forward to working with.

Well as usual thanks for looking. Any comments or critiques are welcome.

Love the burl.
Of course, I always like all burls. Can’t wait to see what you do with the rest.

Nice work on the pens. The pressure treated wood is cool.

I saw those Jim Beam blanks, do they smell like whiskey? Years ago I built a barn style house/winery and we used 3X5 rafters from the Jack Daniels Distillery. The boards were used to keep the barrels off the ground. When I cut them they smelt like Jack. Made me want to bag up the sawdust.

Thanks All.
@William- Like I said this is my first time working with a burl piece. I can certainly see now why you like them so much.

@tomakazi- Yes it still has a bit of the smell which is one of the reasons I only lightly finished it. I did not want to put anything on it that would overpower that smell. The cool part is the charred remains that are on them when you first take them out of the package. certainly stronger at that point.
