I am heading out to visit family soon and wanted to take some pens. Here is a dozen pens that I’ve turned and am giving to my sisters, their families and my Mom who live in Kentucky and Tennessee. They are a variety of woods and I’ll try to get them all correct. From the left : mesquite, purpleheart, yew, curly pink ivory, padauk, blue acrylic, bloodwood, ebony, yellowheart, english walnut, stabilized burl, curly cherry. I hope you like them. The pink ivory really has some nice figure and I think will be the first pen selected by one of my neices. The yew and padauk were the best to work with and also look really good. I did not especially like working with the acrylic, that’s why I’m a lumberjock – right? The burl and curly cherry fought back a bit but they made it to their destiny. The close ups are of the padauk with the pick ivory on top, the last one is the ebony (duh!) with the yellowheart pen open.
