Continuing the melting wood series…

The Melting iPad Dock

I made this iPad dock for my brother, there is also an iPhone version.

Once again, wanting to create a purposeful/ practical piece that represents a frozen depiction of an unstoppable and free flowing action, I decided to make an iPad dock that looks like it melting around the iPad and off of it’s platform.

Liquid Wood: Purple Heart

Base: Zebra Wood

Inspired by Bonsoir Paris’ – Duremen Series http://bonsoirparis.fr/object-design/duramen-series/

Wood purchase from House of Hardwood LA – houseofhardwoodla

Very Cool! You should share the technique you use to create this melting effect.

Wow! Another stunning piece. The purple heart really stand out with the finish and paired with zebra wood. You have mastered this melting style.

Have your say...
