Dovetail Alignment Board

I made myself a new one today, as my old one was kind of bodged together ( yes, even worse than this one ). This is what I use to align my boards when I’m marking out the pins for my hand cut dovetails. It’s not so important that it’s pretty, but what is important is that it’s dead square in all dimensions. In picture #3, you can see the result of using this to mark out the pins.

Great idea! I need to make one of those rather than use the closest piece of scrap wood for alignment.

Nice jig, I’ve got to make one of these, fantastic for correct alignment of boards. Nice work on this.

Very nice. I’d say I was going to build one too, but I really don’t do as much dovetailing as I should.

Everything looks like plywood. Work top also. Do you grow that in your back yard? :))
I also like to use plywood for my jigs because of the humidity. Very nice jig.

Thanks for the compliment. Actually I don’t use hardly any plywood, only for jigs and tables where the shape needs to be stable, and, of course, for the vice faces. My workbench is actually a repurposed desk, it only looks like plywood, it’s actually Oak veneer over MDF.
