if your are a fly tier you know that you have a lot of spools of thread, wire, & yarn. I wanted something that didn’t take up much room on my tying area and held a good number of spools, so I designed this carousel. It is 4 1/2 wide and 12 high and holds 84 spools, the dowels are drilled at a 5 degree angle. I just finished the purpel heart one for a lady fly tier.

I have been making these for a few years now. I had posted them on a fly fishing forum a few years ago and sold enough to pay for a trip to Montana.

Nice job…
Looks good!!!

I may need to borrow this idea….
A buddy of mine does some tying.
This would be a good gift.

Looks great. From the small preview picture, I first thought it was a Keurig cup holder. : )
Turns out it was better than that.

I like it! Total space saver. One question though. Does it make it hard to find the right color since the ends are facing out? I imagine it’s actually a good thing that you can read the label and see what denier you are using.

Greg, there is enough space between each spool that seeing the color is no problem. One side has 6/0, one 8/0, one spooled antron, and one has colored wire, tinsel, and some 10/0 thread.

Great organizer and great to hear you’ve found a good seller to help support your hobbies.

Good idea! You must tie a lot of different flies. Over the years here in SE TN, I found that about six flies is all I need.
