This is a calendar frame I made from some recycled barn siding. I used some conchos from an old belt and my son’s old lariat. The leather is from an old saddle that was broken and I salvaged some pieces of leather from it to use on projects.
This was the first time I didn’t use stain on a project. I thought the colors and natural weathering from the barn siding looked so nice and rustic I didn’t want to change it. So I just used 3 coats of spar urethane in order to give it a little amber hue.

This turned out great. I like how you recycled items, especially on a personal level, to incorporate into this project. Great choice on not staining the old barn wood, natural is best.

Thanks for sharing.

Cool calendar holder! Like the look of naturally stained barn wood, great save.
