So haven’t posted lately, so here is what I’m working on this week. Not my normal thing, actually my first time doing one of these, and not finished yet. Kitchen island maple ply and solids, with bamboo top. Water based lacquer on the maple. Tried and True oil varnish on the bamboo top, but I don’t know if its going to work out. I might be spraying the top too.

very nice top…I like the color of the bamboo…it has become more popular with flooring and I am glad that it is being used in other areas…
How is it to work with…that is a large lamination…(for a noob like me)...was it hard to get it smooth…?

the top is 3’x5’ and it is all laminated the same direction not like a standard cross grain bamboo ply. Which makes it not to stable on its own . Fine when its on the cabinets though. Also needed to climb cut most of the curve and chamfered edge.
