This project was a response project to Steve Ramsey at woodworking for mere mortals project of the wall hanging state decoration. This is New York State I made it out of scrap pieces of Cherry and scrap pieces of Poplar that had this unique purplish color to it. I finished it with a clear coat of spray lacquer.

Yeah the bottom piece ended up breaking off because it was only attached by a tiny bit of wood and the aggressiveness of my jigsaw was too much stress on that tiny piece. I ended up hanging up the state portion in my house and the piece that broke off I keep in the shop. I didn’t want to get rid of it because that’s the part of the state that I live on lol.
