After one year of retirement under my belt I thought that I would share some of my projects that I have been making. I was making European mounting plaques for a taxidermist, he wanted them all out of walnut. As I was cutting out the knots and burls I thought I needed to come up with a project to use up these scraps. I thought fly boxes would be neat since I am an avid fly tier and fisherman. Also made some crerry ones.

Very lovely, not to mention practical. Where did you get the interior ribbed foam?

Great looking boxes! How did you do the mayfly and fish patterns on the boxes?

The foam is 6mm craft foam. I cut the grooves on the table saw tilting the blade and about 1/4 deep. I do the whole sheet and the cut it to fit the box.

The mayfly and fish are laser engraved, I have a girl that does my engraving for me, it cost me $1.50 for each engraving.
