I still need to put the shelving, sides and doors on this but I’m saving that for a rainy day. I used a 2×4 frame and 3/4” mdf with hard board on top of that

Looks good so far. Definately need some sort of fence system to attach a stop for repeatable cuts. Do yourself a favor and build drawers instead of shelves. Bite the bullet and pay for the full extension slides as well. Otherwise things get pushed to the back and you have to stand on your head just to find them. I built something similar with 10 drawers and $230 worth of drawer slides and 15 years later I pat myself on the back for painfully but wisely spending the money. You won’t regret it. Just my 2 cents.

Nice work, Charlie. Been thinking of converting one of my work cabinets to serve the same purpose so thanks for the push!

I really need to make one of these. Do you have plans for a fence? I love having a stop to make repeatable cuts. I know what kind of fence I “want”... but I may need to just bit the bullet and make a similar set up as you and add the fence when i can.
Thanks for sharing.

Check out the miter saw station I built. You might get some ideas to incorporate into yours. The blog has several entries you can read through.
Good luck. I think you will find your new station to be really handy.http://lumberjocks.com/MT_Stringer/blog/36618
