This is a Mahogany & Spalted Maple jewelry box with Bloodwood splines. I used Soss hinges.

The top looks like it is bookmatched spalted maple. But I don’t see a seam in the inside. How thick is the maple.

Great looking box. A nice job.

Nice job! Those hinges came out real well. Great box.

Really nice box – the round-over at the top just sets it off nicely.

Karson, You are right about the seam not being visible on the bottom. The top shows a more even bookmatch but you can see the seam. I had a hard time deciding which side to put up because of this. I finally went with the more even look, and to answer your other question. I resawed the panel into 3/8 ’s thick slices. Thanks for all the kind remarks everyone.

Looking Good! I like those Soss hinges. What finish did you use?

Blake, These hinges are awesome, I LOVE ‘EM . These particular hinges are about $16 & change and I think they are worth every penny. I do like brusso but not enough to pay $27 bucks a pair unless its a very special project. The soss ones are of good enough quaulity to go on any project though. Thanks for the kind words.
