I had a little time to finish this one up. Nothing fancy but I think it came out ok.

Beautiful. Can’t wait until I get a chuck for my lathe so I can turn bowls.

David do you have a face plate? You can turn them using that if you do it isn’t as convenient but it sure can be done.

Hi Ghost
I really like your pieces. You use nice wood and it seems like you are experimenting with shape and form.

Thanks guys.

Glen I’m really not experimenting this is simply how I approach all of my art. I go in with no set idea of what I will turn each piece evolves on the lathe as I go the wood dictates the form. I believe many people try to force a shape into the wood that it isn’t suited to whereas I simply take the unneeded wood away and what is left is what it was supposed to be.

Thanks again for looking and leaving comments.

You are a true artist, I agree that the wood dictates what the end result will be. Just wish some of mine would follow that rule.
That is a beautiful piece of wood.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better.

It’s gorgeous, love the walnut and like the shape and the thinness of your bowl and awesome finish. Great turning piece indeed!

Have your say...
