I found this table in my copy of “Smart Workshop Solutions” by Paul Anthony. I made a few changes from the article, mainly the switch location and the size of the right side cubby. I moved the switch off to the side below the table itself. Thsi opened up the right cubby and made for more storage. For the case I used birch ply. The drawer and doors fronts are Beech, edged in Walnut, and the plywood case was edged with walnut. I installed full extension slides in all four drawers. The 4 bit trays in the upper left slide out on 1/2 ply runners. The top is a sandwich of 3/4 MDF core, with 1/4 masonite veneered to both sides. A leftover bit of plastic laminate was then cemented to the top, then edged with 1/2 maple. Two Three inch casters on the right provide mobility, and a chest handle aids in picking up the left side for moving. The router insert is a Roseau (sp?), that I may upgrade to a Jessem Lift at some pont. This has been a need in the shop for some time. I’m glad it’s finished and ready for some use.

Excellent looking workstation. It looks very well planned and executed. It is nice to have everything organized and where you need it, when you need it. Thanks for sharing Mike.

Really great looking setup, Mike. I see so many great router table projects lately, I can’t decide whose to copy.

Nice job! I really like the mods toi the original design – particularly the power relocation and the extra storage.
I have a NYW design that I bought half-finished and it always bothered me that the power switch is mounted to the side. I like the power switch up front. There is also storage for more router bits than I’ll ever be able to afford. I will steal both of these ideas when I get around to reworking my table.
What’s in the future? T-tracks? Fence?

I can’t wait to see some finish applied to this great piece of shop furniture !! I was also wondering about T Tracks / fence or at least a miter gauge slot . ....I like the mobility aspect of your table as well…everything in my small shop needs to be mobile too ….Great job so far : )

Thanks for the comments folks. Yes I plan on installing the tracks and a fence. I’ve got the fence rough cut, I just need to finish it. I’ll be using Incra tracks and Hardware.
Cheers
Mike
