I was approached to make a bar. She said she wanted a place for people to sit behind the sofa but something like a bar. “Oh so you want a sofa bar”. Everyone liked the term so it stuck. Maple construction with fluting on the four support columns. the top portion I was able to cut three sides from one continuous board, wrapping the grain around the corners. Two drawers were requested for tv guides and remotes. I used a straight bit to cut the drawers out and keep the grain flowing through. I was a bit disappointed that the stain covered up the beautiful grain pattern.

Great idea! The stain did turn the grayish blue into a more pleasing brown, I like that effect.

I like the idea of how you now overlapped the function of two rooms. God Job!
