Nice!

Is that really Cedar? All the Cedar round these parts is just one color, nothing like the fantastic patterns on yours.

Never thought Cedar could be hiding patterns like that, did you get it special or was it just a happy accident?

That is cedar! And I currently have gobs of it sitting in my backyard that I picked up at a local sawyers place. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, mostly because I'm just not a fan of the cedar look (I bought a lot of wood sight unseen that he had in the field it was mixed with pecan, oak, and a few other things, but a majority of it turned out to be cedar).

There are several colors for cedar, the multi color cedar shown here tends to have a nice pleasing smell when you work with it. In fact many people use this unsealed for dresser draws and clothing projects.

All that said, this project turned out quite nice.

Instead of using cedar for my coffee table though, I'm holding out for the time to work the cherry slabs I picked up two years ago… just have to find the time to work them.

AND JUST DON'T WANT THE CEDER I MIGHT BE INTERESTED lol.and thanks everybody for the comments, and yes that is red ceder .it was alotl redder the first day i built it , but it took me two days to come up with the money for the polly {hells -man } so it darkend up a little bit, which i thnk turned out to be a good thing ,cause my wife loves it lol. bigowlscoprio found the tree and had it cut up ,along with about three others ,and was going through it and came across the matching slabs and said this is it ,which started the whole thing lol.

...just finished looking at your pictures, beautiful work.
I'm sorry 'bout your luck, having an abundance of Red Cedar. Looks like you got a handle on that.

...is it just me or is there something looking back at you in picture #5? ;-)

Very nice Fit and Finish.

Best Regards. - Grandpa Len
