I thought it would be fun to post photos of the gifts I gave away for Christmas this past year. I made two sets of 8 coasters using various scraps I have laying around. Mostly walnut, cherry and maple and a bit of ash. The design is not my own. My wife and I purchased a smaller set like these while in Costa Rica years ago and it seemed like a fun quick project to make. I actually made the cutting board a little while ago. After returning from living in Ann Arbor away from my shop for 6 months I was anxious to make some sawdust and threw it together with random off cuts I had lying around. The two frames were for tiles I bought my wife at Motawi Tileworks this past summer. The one with cardinals used some lighter walnut that I lightly stained red before applying Tried and True Danish Oil and eventually some Generals Finishes ArmR seal.

Very cool Will. Man those coasters are a great idea to use up some small cutoffs around the shop.
Thanks!
