I made this box this summer for a customer who requested a chest with a leopard print theme. I used MDF for the panels and covered them with leopard print paper and varnish. The frame and accent pieces are walnut, padauk, and cherry. I had a lot of fun with this project as it allowed my artistic sense to come out. I like making pieces that combine gorgeous wood with more unexpected materials, such as paper, metal, etc.

Interesting effect. I like mixed media, and it certain takes the work in a new direction. Did you have any troubles with the varnish going over the paper? Any bleeding of ink, bubbling etc.
This box looks like the perfect gift for someone in the B-52s or who likes retro. Perfect Love Shack decor…
