Made this for my wife for her birthday, got the plans from one of my magazines but cant seem to find it at the moment. Made from cocobolo. Used Beall buffing system, and was suprised how well it looked when done, as i have never buffed anything before. Plans were to hold 4×6 cards but i made it a tad too short so she has to use 3×5’s, or create her own recipe cards.

Great job, it looks great, very nice wood choice and finish. I’m sure she loves it.

this is a very beautiful box and its a shame it doesnt work as you planned for her, as a suggestion, have you thought of adding an accent piece on top to make it taller, you could remove the hinge and re attach it after you have adjusted the height…just a thought…it sure is a great box..

also as a suggestion maybe use something in the red color for the accent piece..:)...just my idea..

oh…different problem then, lol, well i guess the bugs have been worked out by now..lol..then ill give some different advise..measure twice , cut once….lol…im sure you dont need that by now..but it is a great box, you used some beautiful woods…thanks for posting it…later then…
